One slow drain or several?
A single slow sink often has buildup close to the fixture. Several slow drains, gurgling toilets or water rising in a tub after a flush can indicate trouble in a shared branch or main sewer line. Stop using water during a sewage backup.
Be cautious with chemical cleaners
Do not mix drain chemicals or plunge after using them: splashback can cause burns. Tell your plumbing provider exactly what you have already used. Repeated chemical treatments are not a reliable solution for roots, damaged pipes or recurring main-line clogs.
Recurring clogs deserve investigation
If a drain blocks again soon after clearing, a professional may recommend a camera inspection or another diagnostic approach. Ask what the inspection will establish and whether you will receive the findings before approving major work.
Snaking, hydro-jetting and repair solve different problems. High-pressure cleaning is not right for every pipe; condition should be assessed first.
Reduce everyday buildup
Keep grease out of kitchen drains, use strainers to catch hair and food, and put wipes in the trash even if the label says flushable. If wastewater comes up, keep people and pets away and arrange professional help. Public main problems may require your local utility.
